Jack Halford

B. 1995, Leicester

Jack Halford is a multidisciplinary artist investigating human perception through a lifestyle-based methodology, using his own physiological state as the primary lens through which reality is filtered. His work functions as a tool for cognitive navigation. Through rigorous exercise and reflective periods of rest, he translates a sensory world that can often feel overwhelming into a loosely-structured, visual language.

At the core of this practice is the ongoing series Anthromicroscopy, a hybrid study merging anthropology with microscopy. Halford deconstructs the world to a microscopic level, using micrographs as a foundation before expanding them through a blend of analogue and digital tools. This process creates a visual bridge between our biological makeup and our psychological "inner self."

The resulting paintings are vibrant and immersive; as he works, Halford allows imagined figurative elements to emerge organically from the cellular structures. These works serve as a personal roadmap for traversing the world with clarity, offering viewers a shared framework for understanding the complex relationship between the body, the mind, and the reality we construct.
