crummy sketches are the backbone of all good ideas

If you walk into a gallery, chances are a lot of what you see was thought up in the moment, rough sketches done in pubs on fag packets, ideas talked about over beers then rushed into creation until it works. So does good art all start with crummy drawings? Nah, but I think a good chunk does, today that’s all I did, crummy drawings feeling hungover. I didn’t even drink yesterday, I just ate too much shite and not enough water, I think a lot of artists have bad habits, we like to indulge in nice shit, we make nice shit. even Piero Manzoni’s tin of shit was nicely packaged, luxury shit. from shit comes gold, it’s like the philosophers stone. yup.
